Making flying fun again with an easy-to-use management application
Owning a private aircraft isn’t just about globetrotting and adventure seeking. There’s also a whole management component that is often overlooked which includes planning, financial tracking and maintenance. These important details can sometimes siphon the fun out of the whole flying experience.
In partnership with Insum Solutions, we set out to design an application for Clay Lacy’s busy members on the go that would facilitate their private aviation management needs across the board.
With this useful tool, complete with an extensive stats dashboard and quick access to documents for accounting purposes, we made owning a plane something enjoyable again, from take-off to landing.
Becoming familiar with the daily and financial activities of Clay Lacy’s members and their respective professional teams was an essential part of the application design process. Through our findings, we discovered that not all aircraft owners possessed the same level of knowledge about their planes. In fact, owning one in the first place can get quite complicated. This prompted us to create a tool that would bring back the joy and pride of owning a private aircraft through seamless management. A tool that would provide the full picture at a glance without bogging you down in paperwork and follow-ups.
Clay Lacy’s members are often on the move. This meant that the entire application experience needed to also travel with them with the overall goal to facilitate their journey, from start to finish.
At a click of a button, private aircraft owners are able to:
- Book a charter
- Access their flight itinerary
- Get details regarding in-flight service, including crew member selection and meals
- Identify the in-flight team
- Confirm transportation to and from the airport terminal
- Locate where to park
- Retrieve essential travel documents
- Secure lodging once arrived at destination
- Obtain all the accounting information/documents regarding a charter
It’s not just about stats and balance sheets. The application enables total instantaneous contact among Clay Lacy’s members with all the individuals and professional teams tasked with ensuring an amazing flying experience. The chat function allows the private aircraft owners to get into contact with their appointed manager/representative at any time, whether it’s to ask a question or even challenge an invoice. Need to communicate with the pilot before or during the flight? The application also makes that a cinch!
Time was of the essence with this application design. It was in our best interest to align our technological resources with everything the low-code development platform had to offer.
Time flies when you’re having fun. Inspired by nostalgic video game culture and vintage flight instruments, the application’s interface is designed to highlight noteworthy facts and inspire the user to embrace their sense of adventure. Who ever said analyzing data and flight stats had to be mind-numbing?
As a result of using the Clay Lacy application, the aircraft owner spends less time looking for the information they need and has, overall, a better flight experience. With all the up-to-date stats at hand, it also allows them to make a profit-based decision on individual charter requests, transforming in turn their plane into an asset.
